What Walks of Italy offers
Walks of Italy built its name on one idea: get into the Sistine Chapel before everyone else. Pristine Sistine, its early-entrance Vatican tour, is the most reviewed product of its kind in Rome, and the VIP Key Master’s Tour goes further, accompanying the Vatican’s key keeper as the chapel is unlocked at 6am. Around those two products sits a full Rome catalogue: Colosseum tours including the underground and arena levels, a Rome in a Day combination, night walks, and day trips to Pompeii and Tuscany.
The company started in Rome around 2010 and is now part of City Experiences by Hornblower, the group that also owns Devour Tours; the two brands share a booking platform, which is why Devour’s Rome page lists Pristine Sistine. Tours are in English. Standard groups run 16–20 people according to the operator sheet, with smaller caps on the VIP formats. Prices and group sizes
We could not read live prices on the official site at the time of writing, so treat the following as guidance: standard Colosseum and Vatican tours sit in the mid-range, in line with The Roman Guy and City Wonders, while Pristine Sistine and the VIP formats carry a premium justified by the early-access arrangement. The GetYourGuide flagships at €49 (Colosseum) and €59 (Vatican) are the floor for comparison.
Group size is the main trade-off. Sixteen to twenty is manageable with headsets, and smaller than Enjoy Rome’s 25 or City Wonders’ standard departures, but it is not the six of LivTours or the under-12 of Context Travel. For Pristine Sistine specifically, the group size matters less than the timing: entering before the public is what makes the chapel visit different.
What the price includes
Vatican tours include the museum ticket, the early-entry or after-hours access fee where applicable, a licensed guide and headsets; they end inside St Peter’s, which avoids the separate basilica security line. Colosseum tours include the 24-hour Colosseum, Forum and Palatine ticket and, on the named variants, the underground or arena supplement that the official site sells in limited numbers. Rome in a Day includes both ticket sets and a lunch break but not lunch. Day trips include coach transport and site tickets. Nothing includes hotel pickup or gratuities.
Timing is the thing to plan around. Pristine Sistine meets before the museums open, typically before 7:30am, so choose a hotel within a short taxi ride of the Vatican for that morning; the VIP Key Master’s Tour meets earlier still. Both apply the Vatican dress code (shoulders and knees covered), and both require the ID used at booking. If an early start is impossible, the Complete Vatican Tour at standard hours is the same route with more people in the chapel.
What travellers report
The volume of reviews is the story. Pristine Sistine alone shows about 13,000 on the booking platform, and Tripadvisor, Google and the Rick Steves forum carry years of consistent praise: guides who are engaging and well organised, the early-entry experience that lives up to its promise, smooth meeting-point logistics. The operator sheet notes “consistently high guide quality” as the brand’s defining trait, and public reviews support that.
Recurring complaints are predictable. Groups of 16–20 feel large to travellers expecting “small group”; the signature tours are expensive; and Pristine Sistine’s early start (meeting before 7:30am) is a shock for some. A few reviewers note that the chapel fills up quickly even on early entry as other early-access operators arrive. We found no pattern of refund or no-show disputes.

Free cancellation is advertised, with the exact window on a policy page rather than on the tour card; confirm it before booking, and assume that pre-purchased Vatican tickets are non-refundable inside the window. Support is by email and by phone through regional numbers including one in Italy.
The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s tour on GetYourGuide is the marketplace equivalent of the Complete Vatican Tour if you prefer GetYourGuide’s terms.

Walks of Italy is the operator to book for the Vatican: Pristine Sistine remains the reference early-entry tour, and the VIP Key Master’s Tour is the closest thing to having the Sistine Chapel to yourself. Guide quality is the most consistent in its price band. The compromises are 16–20-person groups and premium pricing on the tours that matter. If a small group is the priority, LivTours or Context; for the Sistine Chapel before the crowds, Walks of Italy in Rome is still the name to know.
