What Eternal Experiences offers
Eternal Experiences is a label rather than a company. Its Tripadvisor page states it is “operated by Carpe Diem Tours”, the multi-city budget operator that also runs pub crawls and food walks in Florence, Budapest, Lisbon, London, Barcelona and Madrid. The Rome products under the Eternal Experiences name are the same ones Carpe Diem sells directly: the Wonders of Rome walking tour, a Colosseum, Palatine and Forum group tour, a Pantheon, Trevi and Navona walk with lesser-known stops, and a Trastevere food walk with pasta and wine.
The positioning is price. Two-hour centre walks from about US$22, Colosseum group tours from about US$24–30 and free cancellation up to 24 hours before put it at the bottom of the market, below the €49 marketplace flagship. What you give up is group size and inclusions. For where budget walks fit among Rome’s options, see the walking tours guide; for the same route done on your own, the free Rome guide.

What travellers report
Tripadvisor shows a 4.8 average from about 300 reviews at our last check, and the Wonders of Rome product page on Carpe Diem’s site shows 4.97 from about 2,500 reviews. Guides are named and praised as engaging and easy to follow, the food tour’s restaurant choices are well received, and reviewers describe a welcoming group atmosphere for solo travellers. The one visible complaint concerns slow communication and an inflexible cancellation when weather disrupted a tour, which matters for a product that “requires good weather” and offers rebooking or refund only if the operator cancels.
Booking and cancellation
Book on carpediemtours.com, on Tripadvisor/Viator, or on GetYourGuide where listed. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start is standard across the listings. Tours run in most weather; if the operator cancels for bad weather you are offered another date or a full refund.
Arrive ten minutes early at Piazza d’Aracoeli, at the foot of the Capitoline steps, and expect the group to fill to its cap in high season.
Alternatives on GetYourGuide/Tiqets
- Walking tours on GetYourGuide — the full category, including small-group and evening walks from about €25.
- Pantheon tour with lesser-known corners — a closer comparison for the centre walk, with Pantheon entry.
- Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill guided tour — from €49, rated 4.8 from about 89,000 reviews, if you want the ticket and headsets included.

Verdict
Eternal Experiences is Carpe Diem’s budget shop window, and on those terms it works: the Wonders of Rome walk is a cheap, well-reviewed two-hour orientation with free cancellation, ideal for a first evening. Do not expect small groups, entries or headsets, and book the Colosseum tour only after checking what the ticket line at checkout adds. For a first walk through the centre at the lowest price, Eternal Experiences in Rome is a fair choice; for anything inside a monument, pay for the marketplace flagship.
