The €89 four-hour walks are priced below Eating Europe and Devour (typically €95–€130) and the two street-food walks are among the cheapest guided eating in Rome. The premium tier is another matter: €199 for a Colosseum-area tour and €289 for rooftops is paying for views and venues rather than more food. The site lists these as private formats; Tripadvisor shows the mainstream tours as small-group.

Tripadvisor: 4.9 from 1,992 reviews, ranked #82 of 924 food and drink activities in Rome at our last check. The company also cites 5.0 from 450+ Google reviews on its site. Product scores are strong across the board — the Jewish Ghetto night tour at 4.9 (about 220 reviews), the Trastevere wine-tasting tour at 4.8, the gluten-free tour at 4.9 (about 60). Reviewers praise guides by name, the mix of history and eating, and describe the walks as “more than a food tour”. One guide, Fabrizia, is mentioned repeatedly.
Criticism is specific and worth weighing: a minority felt the tastings leaned on things “easy to find in Rome” — pizza, gelato — and wanted more distinctly Roman dishes; one reported a tour finishing early. If that matters, choose the Testaccio or Ghetto tours, where the menu is harder to replicate on your own.
Booking and cancellation

The homepage does not state a cancellation policy; FareHarbor-run operators commonly refund in full up to 24 hours before, but read the terms on the checkout page. Tell the company about allergies at booking — the gluten-free tour exists precisely because standard menus are fixed. Evening tours in the Ghetto run after most kosher shops close on Friday nights, so book that one for another day if the bakeries matter to you.

Food Tours of Rome is the strongest locally owned alternative to the international food-tour brands: 17 years of operation, a 4.9 score from nearly 2,000 Tripadvisor reviews, published euro prices and a catalogue that reaches Monti, San Giovanni and Testaccio. Book the €49 Testaccio street-food walk or the €89 Jewish Ghetto by night tour and you get the company at its best. Skip the €199–€289 premium tours unless the venue is the point. For a food tour of Rome run by Romans, this operator is a safe and good-value choice.
