- Amalfi Coast Day Tours, Naples — the larger operation. Tripadvisor lists it at 5.0 from 925 reviews, ranked #54 of 884 tours and activities in Naples. It sells itself on “luxurious Mercedes vehicles”, English-speaking drivers and personalised itineraries through Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
- Amalfi Coast Day Tours, Positano — a small family-run driver service listed at 4.7 from 19 reviews, offering “guiding tours and car service with driver” around Naples, the coast and Sorrento, with pick-up from Rome available for door-to-door transfers.
Neither company has a verified official website, and the sheet that generated this page recorded no site either. Both are driver-guide businesses: you ride in a car or minivan with a driver who narrates, stops for photos and drops you at each town. That is not the same as a licensed guide leading you on foot, and for the coast that distinction matters less than it does at Pompeii.

Positano listing: tours priced from roughly $70 to $176 per adult, including boat outings with snorkelling. The Rome pick-up is a private transfer and the price is not published.

What travellers report
Reviews on the Naples listing are consistent: professional drivers, confident handling of the coast road, willingness to change the plan on request and comfortable vehicles. The recurring negatives are not about the company — steep terrain in Positano that is hard for older travellers, and occasional road closures that force detours.
The Positano listing is too small to draw conclusions from. One reviewer reported a two-hour delay, rude communication and missed stops; the company replied that the reviewer had confused it with another operator. That exchange illustrates the real risk with this name: reviews for two businesses blur together.
Booking and cancellation
Both businesses take bookings through Tripadvisor/Viator product pages and by direct enquiry. Cancellation terms depend on the listing you book; Viator-sold products generally allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before, but private drives may carry stricter terms. Before paying:
- Save the Tripadvisor URL so you know which of the two companies you booked.
- Get the pick-up time, vehicle type and euro price in writing.

Verdict
Amalfi Coast Day Tours is a name, not a single company. The Naples-based business behind the larger listing is a well-reviewed private driver service that makes sense if you are already in Naples, Sorrento or Salerno and want a car for the day at $100 per seat or $324 for a private run. From Rome it is the wrong tool: the transfer swallows the day and the budget. Book a scheduled Rome departure on GetYourGuide or Tiqets, or take the train to Naples and hire the driver there.
